IC Technology and IP blocks
The purpose of this R&D activity is to identify, test and qualify deep sub-micro IC technologies (Mainly 130nm and possibly 90nm) appropriate for the use in future experiments where the front-end electronics will have to work reliable in an environment with very high levels of radiation (up to 100Mrad). Appropriate technologies will be identified and made available to the HEP community for use in experiments at CERN. Required digital libraries and design tools for the chosen technologies will be supported on an best possible effort basis. MPW runs will be organized according to needs. Specific Intellectual Property (IP) blocks needed in HEP applications will be developed and be made available to the community to the extent possible. External groups using these technologies are also strongly encouraged to contribute to make IP blocks available to other users.
This R&D activity is strongly coupled to the MPW service.
